We took possesion of the Bergara B-14 Wilderness Ridge rifle in a 7 mm remington magnum just a few weeks ag0. We topped the gun with a Leupold 4-20 VX5 scope mounted on Warne rings.
We were really excited how cool it looked, and were anxious to test out the legendary accuracy claims.
Our first trips to the range were all with factory ammo as we went through the break in process outlined on the Bergara web page: Clean the Gun after each of the first 5 shots, then clean the gun every 10 shots for the next 50…then clean as needed.

We know it is the buzz word, and the current rage…but we are hoping to make this a long range hunting gun for under $1500. We actually hope to just make it a great long range gun regardless of the price.

We found the gun to meet the 1 MOA guarantee right from the first shot fired, NICE. We also found that the groups definitely tightened as we continued along the path of breaking in the rifle.

Once we had completed the break in process and shot about 50 rounds through the gun, we worked up a hand load: 61.5 grains IMR 4831, 162 grain ElD-X, seated just off of the lands.

We then headed back to the range for some more shooting, in a little better environment, and with no wind..finally.

The shooting went very well! We shot the gun with the muzzle break on, and with it off. We felt like the muzzle break reduced the overall kick around 50% making it very comfortable to shoot a 7mm MAGNUM over and over with no shoulder issues at all.

The gun feels good on the bench and in the field. It does have a bit of a heavy barrel, and can tend to rock forward in the sling over your shoulder, but this is a minor issue and does not happen much.

The trigger on this gun, right from the factor was set at about 3 pounds, which made it a dream to shoot. It has no creep and surprised us each time the gun went off. Bergara puts a good trigger in this gun and is easy to adjust and very crisp.

After working up a load, and shooting the gun around 75 times, we were now able to repeatedly shoot a .5 MOA group. We also took the gun out to 700 yards, and clanked the gong 5 times in a row. YES!

The Bergara b-14 Wilderness Ridge is a top performing gun. We love it and are totally sold on Bergara quality, functionality, and accuracy. Well done Bergara, we want more!

What they could do better:
The stock is just ok looking. We feel a better pattern of camo would be more appealing.
