Zenbivy Dry Sacks Review – iReviewGear.com

Every Serious backpacker needs dry sacks. They are useful for both saving space and keeping things dry. ZENBIVY has just taken the dry sack to the next level and you NEED to check these out!

Just the Facts:

This is no ordinary stuff sack. The Zenbivy Dry Sack features fully-welded seams for a watertight seal you can trust, instant compression through its high-speed mechanical valve, and durable yet lightweight construction. Only the best for your Zenbivy Bed! Our Dry Sacks are compression compatible, not all-in-one, which means you get to choose. Pair your Zenbivy Dry Sack with our Compression Caps to get an even smaller, more compact bundle for packing.

Instant Compression

Waterproof breathable panels not only leak, but they are slow. Our high-speed mechanical valve instantly dumps air while remaining watertight for quick compression you can trust.

*NEW AND IMPROVED! Our new and improved valve not only dumps air faster, but it no longer makes the “duck” sound when it releases that air. Now made to be virtually silent, you can compress your Zenbivy Bed quickly AND quietly.

Lightweight & Durable

We’ve found that other dry sacks on the market are either light OR durable. Zenbivy Dry Sacks are both. We’ve combined 30d ripstop nylon with a burlier 75d base to give strength where it’s needed.

Compression Compatible

All-in-one sewn compression sacks pull on seams and compromise the dry sack’s waterproof integrity. We’ve made ours compression compatible. Separate compression will never stress seams, resulting in a more reliably waterproof dry sack.

For those times where you need to maximize the space in your pack, simply add on the Caps and tighten the straps to instantly shrink it down. You can expect your Bed to compress down to roughly half the size of its recommended Dry Sack.

My Story:

Just before Christmas and right in the middle of the pandemic I was sent a very awesome package from our good friends at ZENBIVY. It was the new dry sack and compression sack combo. I was instantly impressed by how well they appeared to be made. It was not ideal backpacking season and the pandemic had things challenging to say the least. I was not going to let that stop me from playing with these great products.

The first thing that absolutely blew my mind was the pressure valve on the bag. It is not a complicated design but one that has long been overdue in my backpacking life. This bad boy allows air to leave the bag as you roll down the top. Sure, we have all done this by folding the top of the bag and trying hard to roll the top before air reenters the bag but those days are gone. With the one-way valve you simply fill the bag, roll the top down and compress the contents while listening to that pesky air blow through the valve. It is magic!

I decided that the best test for this new bag would be to take my ZENBIVY bed and stuff it into the bag. I love the ZENBIVY bed but it desperately needed a compression sack so this was a very exciting addition to a product I already loved.

Once I had it in the bag it was time to start the compression. I simply rolled down the top and allowed the air to escape the bag via the release valve. When all the air is out you finish rolling to top down and then clip the two ends together. It is just that simple!

Now that you have the bag filled and the air compressed out of the contents it is time to add the compression sack. The dry sack honestly does a great job without this but it is an added layer of security that insures your bag stays tightly packed. The compression sack easily fits over the bag and is secured by way of 4 straps which should be pulled tight by going around the bag in a circle. Voila!

You have now successfully minimized the size of your cargo and insured that it will stay dry in the event of a rain storm or an unfortunate creek crossing. No matter the situation ZENBIVY has you covered wit ha line of simply amazing products that just flat out work. What more could you ask for?
