My Story:

I love to hike, and I get out as often as I can. I will hit a quick after work trip or massive multi day mile crushers. I just want to get out and seethe world. To do this you need a good backpack, or several of them. So, when I was introduced to Pingora I was very intrigued at the idea of testing out some of their packs.

After meeting with the crew during summer OR we were sent off with two different styles to test. They were meant to meet the day hiking needs but a 25L pack could get you through a weekend if you pack properly. So, the Remote Z 25 was instantly a pack I set my sights on.

The features of this pack are relatively standard with a bit of a twist. For all you kids, the cell phone pocket is a neat feature that keeps your phone, which is also Lilley your camera, in a safe convenient place right on your shoulder strap. This was a cool feature that I wanted to highlight.

Other notable specs are the chest and waist straps, zippered hip pockets, hydration compatibility, trekking pole attachment system, several mesh pockets, and bungee system. Basically, you can strap, store, or hang stuff off just about everywhere on this pack.

My first use of this pack was in the backcountry of Idaho. We packed in a ton of gear for our main camp, and I stuffed the Remote Z 25 into my big pack for use as a day pack once we got to our main. We were on a scouting mission to find a good water source for when we returned in October to elk hunt. I needed to be light while exploring camp and the 24 oz. Remote Z was just the ticket!

After walking around Idaho for several days we found what we were looking for and made our way back home. Soon after we left for our family trip to the Oregon Coast, and I thought having some day packs would be a good idea. Well, the Remote Z found another use as a great shower caddy as we had to hike to the showers at our campsite. My wife took it over and I was left with a pink shower tote LOL.

After returning home again I was able to get out on some day hikes just trying to keep my legs ready for elk season. The Remote Z was my faithful companion on these hikes and by the time elk season came around I had well over 100 miles of walking done with the Remote Z 25. I find it to be incredibly comfortable and functional with the right number of features that are actually useful and none of the unnecessary extra flash that some other packs have. This is truly a great simplistic pack that I feel you will love!
